- What do I need to get started?
- Photos that belong together — a trip, a year, a person. Up to 30 in one album. You can add a note to any photo, by typing or by talking, and PhotoCast makes the story, the voice and the video.
- How long does a video take to make?
- A preview takes about 5 minutes, and a full video finishes in under 10. You can leave the page — we'll email you when your story is ready, and again when the video is.
- How long can the video be?
- You pick the length: 15 seconds, 30 seconds, about 1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes, or Unlimited, which runs as long as the story needs, up to 10 minutes. A shorter length focuses on the strongest moments, so not every photo is narrated. You can write the story again, free, at a longer length.
- Can I change the story?
- Yes. Edit any line, or delete one, before the video is made. You can also write a whole new version — a different style, length or voice — and that is free. The styles are Warm & personal, Playful, Documentary and Sarcastic.
- One voice or two?
- Both. One host is a single storyteller. Two hosts turn the album into a conversation about your photos. There are three voices each, and you can hear all six of them above.
- Can I use my own music?
- Yes. Pick from seven tracks — Soft piano, Calm, Cinematic and more — choose no music at all, or upload an MP3 you own, up to 15 MB.
- What sizes can I make?
- Wide for a TV or laptop, Mobile for a full phone screen, and Instagram for a feed. Subtitles are on, and you can switch them off. You download the full video and send it however you like.
- Who can see my photos?
- Only you. Your photos and notes are used to make your video and nothing else. You can delete an album, with its photos, story and video, whenever you want.
- What does it cost?
- The preview is free, and your first 2 minutes are on us. A full video is $4 a minute, tax included, and minute packs bring that down to $1.63 a minute. You never pay more than the length you pick, and if a video doesn't finish, the minutes come back to your account.
